Tbilisi, Georgia, July 9
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:
Georgia is not satisfied with NATO's proposal, although the proposal package on the "enhanced cooperation" with the alliance shows an increase in the cooperation level, Georgian State Minister for Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic Structures, Alexi Petriashvili said.
Speaking to the Georgian Imedi TV Channel on July 9, Petriashvili said that Georgia is ready for the upcoming NATO Wales Summit.
"The democratic elections to local government bodies also played a role in this. I hope Georgia's progress will be adequately assessed at the summit," Petriashvili added.
He stressed that Tbilisi is not satisfied with the proposal package of "enhanced cooperation" with NATO, though it provides a closer political cooperation with this military-political bloc.
NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai arrived in Tbilisi on July 9.
He told reporters at the Tbilisi airport that he and Georgian leadership will discuss the package of proposals on an enhanced cooperation.
