BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 16. Urea (nitrogen fertilizers) output at the SOCAR Carbamide plant in Sumgayit from January through February amounted to 111,100 tons, which is 69.9 percent more than the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 26,700 tons of urea were stored in SOCAR Carbamide's warehouses on March 1.
To note, this enterprise, which has been operating in the country for a little over five years, produced 454 thousand tons of urea in 2023, 148,800 tons of which were purchased by EU countries.
Over the entire period of operation, this enterprise produced 1.64 million tons of nitrogen fertilizers (urea, or "urea"), of which 1.23 million tons were exported.
