BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 16. SOCAR Methanol LLC of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) produced 94,900 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) from January through February 2024, which is twice as much as the indicator for the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, 22,300 tons of methanol were stored in SOCAR Methanol's warehouses on March 1.
To note, this enterprise has been on the balance sheet of SOCAR since 2014 and is the only producer of methanol in the South Caucasus.
Its production capacity is (at peak) about 720,000 tons per year.
