Ukraine Wants to be Sure that Kosovo’s Independence Will not Affect Other Conflicts: Ukraine’s Prime Minister

Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 April /corr. Trend A.Maherremli, S.Ilhamgizi / Ukraine wants to be sure that Kosovo's independence will not affect other conflicts, said the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Timoshenko, answering a question in PACE with regards to Ukraine's recognition of Kosovo's independence.

"Yet there are unsettled conflicts in the neighboring countries. The principle of territorial integrity is sometimes jeopardized. Therefore, before recognizing Kosovo's independence, we should be sure that it is a unique situation, which will not affect other conflicts," Timoshenko said.

She added that Ukraine recognizes territorial integrity of the neighboring countries and therefore, expects the international organizations to clarify the issue of Kosovo. "After receiving a response from the international organizations, we will make our decision," the Prime Minister said.
