Azerbaijan to Aid Myanmar
Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 May / Trend corr. S.Agayeva / Khazar Ibrahim, a spoke person of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, stated to Trend that Azerbaijan would render an aid to Myanmar to liquidate the last tropical cyclone Nargis.
Millions of people were deprived of their homes as a result of the tropical cyclone Nargis. The number of victims is 22,500 and more than 40,000 residents are missing.
" Azerbaijan, as a responsible member of international community, always renders aid and support to the countries where different disasters take place. Azerbaijan has rendered aid to Indonesia and Iran. Considering the current severe situation in Myanmar, where thousands of people died as a result of tropical cyclone, the Azerbaijani government is considering a possible aid to the country," Ibrahim stated.
