Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 June /corr Trend S. Agayeva / Azerbaijan and Italy plan to hold political consultations soon.
Azerbaijan and Italy, the key countries in the Caspian and Mediterranean regions, will discuss prospects of interregional cooperation, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy said on 5 June. The prospects of the development of political and economical relations will be discussed during the talks.
The cooperation within the framework of international organizations, Italy's assistance to Azerbaijan in its integration to European organizations and NATO, cooperation in trafficking of drugs and chemical arms, illegal migration and etc. will be on key focus during the consultation between the foreign ministers, the embassy said.
During the meeting, Azimov drew attention to developing potential of Azerbaijan, which plays an important role in the Caspian region, and stressed that in its turn Italy also played an important role in the Mediterranean region. The cooperation between the two countries may contribute to the cooperation between the regions, he said.
