Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 August / Trend corr. E.Babayev / Azerbaijani opposition Musavat party intends to stage a large- scale rally. "Musavat is expected to stage several rallies in August. We plan to stage large- scale rallies as well," Gabil Huseynli, an organization man from Musavat, told Trend .
Huseyn said that Musavat was interested in stage of large-scale rallies to be held together with other opposition parties. Rally participants will claim to provide freedom of assemble, to release journalists and others.
At present, there are three detained journalists in Azerbaijan.
Huseynli stated that the situation in Geogia was discussed at the meeting and the declaration concerning the military operations in South Ossetia was accepted. Dispersal of the rally by the Youth organization of Musavat before the Russian Embassy in Baku was also touched upon.
Musavat was founded in Baku in October 1911. Musavat's third meeting was held in the Republic Palace in Baku on 7 November 1992. Isa Gambar was elected the head of the party through secret voting.
Gambar had been the Speaker from 1992 to 1993 and a presidential candidate in 2003. Four MPs represent the party in Parliament.
