Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 August / corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The Azerbaijani border-guards prevented tobacco smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan.
An Azerbaijani citizen with 4,860 boxes of Esse brand and 840 boxes of Marlboro brand of cigarette was arrested as border violator and other border violator could escape, the State Border Service (SBS) said on 28 August, Trend reported.
The SBS employees could arrest the other border violator as a result of operative-investigation measures.
A lawsuit was filed on this case at the SBS Investigation Department.
A total of 2,350kg of hemp was collected from 0.5 area in Garahasanli village of Sharur Region on 13 August and burnt as a result of Poppy 2008 operative investigation measures.
