Some 1,056 People Will Observe Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan’s Lankaran Region

Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 October / Trend corr. P.Aliyeva /Some 1,056 people will observe the upcoming presidential elections in the Lankaran region in Azerbaijan, Elshad Ibrahimov, head of the regional organizations of the Executive Administration of Lankaran, told Trend .

The presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on 15 October. Seven candidates will take part in the elections, including Ilham Aliyev,chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.

Some 451 observers represent political parties, 438 -NGO. The rest 167 people will observe the elections voluntarily.

The ballot papers process have been completed in Lankaran. About 95% of electorates were informed and others are beyond the region.

About 111,250 voters were registered in Lanakran, the election district reported.

There are 4 election districts (73, 74, 75 and 76) in Lankaran and 115 election centres.
