Iran may reinforce its influence in world after presidential elections: ex-President

Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani cast his vote for the 10th presidential elections on Friday, IRNA reported.

"The 10th presidential elections is one of the most important and decisive in the country's history," said Ayatollah Rafsanjani as he voted in Hosseinieh No. 1 of Jamaran polling station.
Rafsanjani referred to ongoing global conditions and files at the UN Security Council as well as the threats posed by occupying countries in the region and said, "In this round, people feel more responsible than in all the earlier rounds as they demonstrated their awareness in universities, streets and in other places."

He said that the elections should be held in a manner that people show elections results in concordance with their voting.

He said that elections will be decisive for the revolution, country and the world of Islam. "After the elections, Iran can increase its influence in the world," he added.
