Lithuanian deputy foreign minister arrives in Turkemnistan

The governmental delagation of the Lithuanian Republic heade by deputy foreign minister Evaldas Ignatavichus holds negotiations in the foreign ministry, the ministry on environemnt protection, the ministry of railroad transport in Ashgabat, national TV channel Altin Asir said on June 23.

"Development of bilateral cooperation in corresponding spheres, including trade-economic sphere, health and culture were discussed," the message said.

Lithuanian Prime-Minister Gediminas Kirkilas paid official visit to Turkmenistan in 2008. He participated in joint business-forum and was received by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.

Kirkilas said that Lithuania is willing to strenghten cooperation with Turkemnistan in transport. Viking train for combined transportation connceting Klaipeda sea port with Turkemnisatn would promote turnover of bilateral trade and would be additional way for export of Turkmen freight to the West. Lithuanian prime minister said that cooperation in power engineering can bring together EU with region of the Caspian Sea.

As it is known, one of the most important connections can be Nabucco gas pipeline.

Such Lithuanian companies as CJSC PAROC, ORANDA, Baltvesta, Linas AGRO, TRANSCALIS, etc. Are interested in the Turkmen market. Lithuanian side expresed readiness to interaction in construction, food indistyr, agricultural complex, publishing, production and transport sector.
