Thomas Markert is appointed new Secretary of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, a source in the CoE told Trend .
According to report, the decision was announced at the meeting of the Committee of Representatives of CoE on Wednesday by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjoern Jagland.
The previous Secretary of the Venice Commission was Gianni Buquicchio. He is currently acting chairman of the Venice Commission.
