Lithuania's new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Georgia Jonas Paslauskas delivered his credentials to Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania.

After the official ceremony of delivering copies of credentials, a meeting was held. The parties discussed bilateral relations, the foreign ministry information and press department told Trend.

Jalagania thanked ambassador for Lithuania's assistance to Georgia, and expressed the hope that close relations between the two countries will continue in future.

Jonas Paslauskas confirmed continued support for Lithuania's sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and emphasized particularly warm relations between the Lithuanian and Georgian peoples.

It also dealt with the importance of creating a joint commission within the Charter on Cooperation signed between Georgia and Lithuania in terms of the institutionalization of the existing relations between the two countries.

The sides expressed readiness for an active and fruitful cooperation.
