During the last two months Iran has rendered harmless 863 groups engaged in drug trafficking, head of Iran's Department on Combating Drug Hamidrza Huseynabadi said. Trend quoted Iran's Police news site.
Huseynabadi said that during this period 74 tons 450 kilograms of various narcotic substances were seized.
According to him, during the last two months 32,713 drug trafficker were arrested.
"During the last two months 4 tons 890 kilograms of heroin, 985 kilogram of morphine, 56 tons 700 kilograms opium, 10 tons 500 kilograms hashish and other kinds of drugs were seized," Huseynabadi added.
He also stressed that 2,626,806 narcotic pills were seized during the reported period.
Huseynabadi added that police will never give opportunity to groups engaged in drug trafficking to conduct activity easily. They will not be able to sneak these toxic substances to the country.
