Georgia CEC: Gigi Ugulava elected Tbilisi's mayor

As a result of preliminary counting of votes at all 774 polling stations in Tbilisi, the mayor of Georgia's capital became the representative of the ruling United National Movement Gigi Ugulava.

As a result of preliminary counting of votes at all 774 polling stations in Tbilisi, the mayor of Georgia's capital became the representative of the ruling United National Movement Gigi Ugulava, Central Election Commission chairman Zurab Kharatishvili said to briefing today.

Ugulava is followed by: the leader of the Alliance for Georgia Irakli Alasania - 19 percent, the candidate of the Christian-Democratic Movement Gia Chanturia - 10.7 percent, candidate of the National Council Zviad Dzidziguri - 8.3 percent, candidate of Industrialists Gogi Topadze - 5.2 percent, candidate of Solidarity Movement Tamaz Vashadze 0.65 percent, candidate of People's Democrats Nika Ivanishvili - 0.5 percent, candidate of Democratic Party David Yakobidze - 0.2 percent and candidate of the Party of Future Giorgi Ishino - 0.14 percent.

Kharatishvili said these data are unlikely to change, because there is no serious violation.

About 49 percent of population participated in the elections in Tbilisi.
