Youth wing of ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) conducted a meeting on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of Azerbaijani Armed Forces, NAP website reported.
At the meeting, an appeal was made to Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.
"Azerbaijani Armed Forces were established in complicated period and passed an honorable historical way. After National Leader Heydar Aliyev's return to political power, our country made important steps towards military building. We can say proudly that Azerbaijani Army is the biggest army of the South Caucasus and guarantor of security not only of our country, but also in the region. The great achievements gained in the socio-economic sphere in the republic as a result of the reforms carried out by You, increased the military power of our Motherland and paved the way for your efficient diplomatic course. The Azerbaijani people, each member of the New Azerbaijan Party Youth Union is ready to liberate our sacred lands with Your call," the appeal says.
"Over the past seven years, Azerbaijan's military expenses increased more than 13 times, reaching $2.15 billion. This figure is higher than the entire state budget of Armenia. An additional guarantee to increase combat effectiveness of our Army is such factors as the moral and psychological stability of Azerbaijani soldiers, the military-patriotic education of our youth, the unbreakable unity of the people and armed forces. Our young people go to military service with a high mental attitude and faith, and the mood of patriotism reigns in the ranks of our armed forces. Eternal is the unity of the people and army of Azerbaijan, safeguarding state as the apple of our eyes. Your purposeful line of foreign policy to return peacefully Armenian-occupied territories of Azerbaijan is perceived by our people with sympathy and understanding. However, aggressor Armenia does not deviate from its non-constructive position in the negotiation process. In the name of this lofty goal, each of us will be soldier, officer, fighter tomorrow, and we feel a sense of pride in this regard," the appeal says.
