Roughly 128,000 civil cases and 500,000 appeals for court decisions were considered in the first half of this year in Uzbekistan. Ninety percent of the civil cases were concluded. Claims were settled in 95 percent of the cases.
Over 174 billion soum were recovered by court decision.
"Non-custodial sentences were applied toward 17,000 people, which resulted in the recovery of over 104 billion soum in material damages," the Uzbek government reported.
The government is paying increasing attention to new measures to increase accountability among officials, and improve the professionalism and qualifications of judges and court personnel.
