Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov received the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador of Ukraine Valentin Shevalev, who handed credentials to the Turkmen President.
According to the Turkmen Government, Shevalev conveyed the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich's greetings and best wishes.
During the meeting views exchanged on aspects of bilateral cooperation. Oil and gas sector, trade and economy, the textile industry, agriculture, transport, urban development were indicated among the priority areas.
Berdimuhammadov stressed that "Turkmenistan attaches great importance to intensifying Turkmen-Ukrainian partnership, based on principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit."
