Azerbaijan uncovered 63 cases of human trafficking, rendered five criminal gangs harmless, and uncovered 29 offenders in the first nine months of 2010, Azerbaijan's first deputy interior minister Vilayat Eyvazov said today at a meeting of parliament.

Azerbaijan uncovered 63 cases of human trafficking, rendered five criminal gangs harmless, and uncovered 29 offenders in the first nine months of 2010, Azerbaijan's first deputy interior minister Vilayat Eyvazov said today at a meeting of parliament.

Eyvazov, Azerbaijan's national coordinator on combating human trafficking, delivered a report to parliament today.

Some 13 internationally wanted criminals were arrested by Interpol and handed over to the investigating agencies, and measures to arrest 43 wanted are underway, Eyvazov said.

He said 25 of 32 trafficking victims have been placed in the appropriate rehabilitation centers. Each has received medical and psychological assistance.

Over the past period, law enforcement agencies uncovered 611 cases of begging and illegal involvement in child labor, he said.
