The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan has registered 1,009 international observers wishing to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov said on Monday.

According to him, the CEC has recorded 3,406 persons wishing to observe the upcoming elections.
According to Panahov, representatives from 48 countries will observe the elections.
"The representatives of 11 international media outlets have been registered to cover the parliamentary elections," said Panahov.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
