MP Ogtay Asadov is reelected the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Speaker, the Parliamentary Spokesman Akif Tavakkuloglu told Trend.

Voting was held on Monday at the opening session of the Azerbaijani Parliament's fourth convocation.

Ziyafat Asgarov is reelected the First Deputy Speaker, Bahar Muradova and Valeh Alasgarov - deputy -speakers.

Also chairmen of parliamentary committees have been elected.

Ziyafat Asgarov has been re-elected the chairman of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Ziyad Samadzade - Economic Policy Committee, Valeh Alasgarov - Natural Resources, Energy and Environment Committee, Eldar Ibrahimov - Agrarian Policy Committee, Hadi Rajabli - Social Policy Committee, Arif Rahimzade - Regional Affairs Committee, Shamsaddin Hajiyev - Science and Education Committee, Nizami Jafarov - Culture Committee, Rabiyyat Aslanova -Human Rights Committee and Samad Seyidov - International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties Committee.

The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan has approved the results of the Nov. 7 parliamentary elections.

The CEC approved a final protocol on the results of the elections on Nov. 22. Seventeen of 18 CEC members signed the protocol.

The voter turnout hit about 50.14 percent (roughly 2.48 million voters) in Azerbaijan, the CEC's Elections Information Center told Trend.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005.
