Several terror acts in Georgia in September-November were organized by the Russian special services, Georgian Deputy Interior Minister Eka Zguladze said today at a special briefing.

Several terror acts in Georgia in September-November were organized by the Russian special services, Georgian Deputy Interior Minister Eka Zguladze said today at a special briefing.

According to the official, six Georgian citizens were arrested on Dec. 4 for their involvement in the blasts in the regions and Tbilisi. Two explosions sounded in the office of the opposition Labor Party and in front of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi.

Zguladze said the ministry learned that Russian Major Yevgeni Borisov threatened to kill Georgian citizen Gogity Arkania's family and forced him to put together a group of terrorists to commit a series of blasts in Tbilisi.

"According to Arkania's testimony, he was threatened in the Gali district where he lives and told that his family is being held by the occupiers," she said. "He received an order from a Russian officer, Yevgeni Borisov, who directly controlled and ordered the blasts. After each blast. the group reported to the Borisov over the phone. From March to October 2008, Borisov was the chief of staff of the Russian military contingent in Urta."

According to official, two participants in the terror acts, Merab Kolbaya and Mukhran Tskhadaya, are hiding in the Gali district of Abkhazia.

The Interior Ministry has video footage to prove the charges.

The detainees include Arkania, Joni Nikolava, Mariam Nikolava, Gocha Khurtsilava, Goderdzi Arkania and Lela Khurtsilava. There are two women among them. Explosive devices were also seized that were provided by the Russian agent.
