The Community of Democracies Parliamentary Forum will be held for the first time in Georgia on May 19-20. Parliamentary Speaker David Bakradze said it is an important forum. It will be held in Georgia for the first time.

"High-ranking guests will attend the forum, including parliamentary speakers, and delegations from the U.S. Congress and European parliament," he said. "We also expect the European Parliament president to attend the forum. It will be a serious and significant
forum with key players."

The Community of Democracies was founded in 2000 upon the initiative of then-U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright as a platform to discuss such topics as human rights, civil liberties and democratic values. A similar forum was held in Krakow, Poland in summer 2010.
