Georgian Patriarch leaves for Ukraine

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II has today left for Ukraine.
As Georgian Patriarchate told Trend, within his visit Ilia II will meet with the head of the Ukrainian Church, Metropolitan Vladimir.
On the evening of July 26, Ilia II is scheduled to meet with the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill at Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
The Patriarch of Russia Kirill, Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II, Metropolitan of All Ukraine Vladimir together with clerics from Ukraine, Russia and Georgia will make the Divine Liturgy at Kiev-Pechersk Lavra on July 28.
As Ilia II said during a Sunday service, the Russian and Georgian Orthodox churches can do more to bring closer the two peoples.
