President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received today the Georgian foreign minister Grigol Vashadze.
The Georgian minister congratulated the Azerbaijani government, people and personally President Ilham Aliyev on the country's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He described Azerbaijan's getting a seat on the Security Council as a success of the Azerbaijani diplomacy.
For his part, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, describing this victory as a real indicator of increasing of the country's prestige in the world.
President Aliyev thanked the Georgian Government for supporting Azerbaijan when the country was elected as a non-permanent member of the Security Council.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the development of Azerbaijan-Georgia relationship in various spheres, including energy one. They also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
