Top official: Iranian side’s statements unfounded (UPDATE)

Azerbaijan has no connection with any terrorist organization or organizations which oppose humanity. The statements, made by the Iranian side, have no real reason. It is unknown why it accuses Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Chief Ali Hasanov told media today.
"Azerbaijan takes into account the interests of neighboring countries in their relations with foreign organizations, with one or other bodies of foreign countries," Hasanov.
A protest note from the Iranian side was handed over to the ambassador at the meeting. In it was stated that Azerbaijan creates the conditions for activity against the Iranian organisation MOSSAD, including free passage of terrorists involved in the murder of Iranian nuclear scientists. Other issues were specified. They urged official Baku to stop taking similar steps. MOSSAD is Israel's intelligence service.
Tehran also said that the Azerbaijani customs bodies create difficulty for people coming from Iran.
Azerbaijan's border services work with foreign countries in a normal regime, Hasanov said.
"The citizens of any country arrive in Azerbaijan, as in an open democratic country, pass the border in accordance with the visa regime, or live here," he said. "All this is determined by the law. Therefore, Iran's statement is unfounded."
He said that in the present situation Iran must be cautious in relations with its neighbors and must act diplomatically in these issues in accordance with the law and good neighborly relations.
