Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has today signed an order to pardon 62 prisoners, the press-service of the Azerbaijani President said.
According to the order, 55 people among those sentenced to imprisonment, one person - corrective labor, 6 people - the penalty in the form of a fine were pardoned.
Among those pardoned by President is Ruslan Bashirov (Bashirli), who was convicted under Article 278 of the Criminal Code (attempt of violent seizure or retention of power), and sentenced to seven years in prison, as well as Elnur Israfilov, who was sentenced to 2 years 6 months for taking part in an unsanctioned rally, held on April 2 last year.
