The activity of several opposition parties in Azerbaijan is seasonal, deputy executive secretary of the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan party (NAP), MP Siyavush Novruzov told Trend.
"Opposition rallies are usually held in spring and autumn and are seasonal in nature. Activities of these parties revived during international events held in Azerbaijan in order to spoil the image of the country," the MP said.
Novruzov added that except for meetings, activities of some opposition parties are limited to publications in the newspapers.
"There is no question of serious preparation for the presidential election as these parties have not yet found an alternative to rallies,' the MP said.
