There will be no peace in the Middle East without a Palestinian state, Al Jazeera" TV channel quotes Grand Imam of Egypt, Ahmed al-Tayeb as saying on Wednesday.
According to al-Tayeb, Israel should stop its aggression against the Palestinians.
"The continuation of the construction of Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian lands contradict peace talks and poses a great threat to peace," al-Tayeb said.
Palestinian-Israeli peace talks were suspended two years ago. The Palestinians refuse to resume the talks until Israel does not stop settlement activity in the occupied territories of the West bank of Jordan and East Jerusalem.
Israel, in turn, offers to resume dialogue without preconditions.
