Georgia, Tbilisi, 25 Feb. / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /

The Tbilisi City Court dismissed all petitions of the Prosecutor's office of Georgia regarding adoption of the preventive measure against the Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava. The Prosecutor's office demanded to adopt the preventive measure in the form of a pledge of one million lari ($ 1 = 1.66 lari).

In addition, the prosecution presented the question of dismissal of the mayor from office and weekly appearance at the public prosecutor's office, as well as the requirement not to leave the country.

However, all these requests were rejected by the court. The final judgment will be directed by the court to the prosecutor's office within two days.

Ugulava was charged with misappropriation of another's property (2nd and 3rd part of Article 182 of the Criminal Code of Georgia) and money laundering (third part of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).

Meanwhile, the court chose a measure of restraint against ex-Defense Minister David Kezerashvili, who is being held on charges of appropriation by Tbilisi authorities of the Imedi TV channel.

The judge granted the request of the prosecutor's office for choosing a preventive measure against the former minister in the form of detention.

Kezerashvili is out of Georgia, hiding in Israel. He has Georgian and Israeli citizenship.
