Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka may cooperate in energy

Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka may cooperate in energy, Sri Lankan External Affairs Minister Gamini Lakshman Peiris said at a meeting with Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov who is on a visit to Sri Lanka.
Hailing high level political relations between the two countries, Gamini Lakshman Peiris stressed the importance that this relationship also covers spheres such as economy, trade, mutual investments and tourism.
Azerbaijan is ready to develop cooperation with Sri Lanka in the above-mentioned spheres, as well as agriculture and sea transport, Mammadyarov said.
During the meeting they also discussed the ways to strengthen legal framework.
The meeting ended with the signing of Protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ministry of External Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
