Azerbaijan's First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mehriban Aliyeva, has been named the 'First Lady of the Year' by 'The Business Year' company.
The awarding was announced on Wednesday, May 14 at the ceremony of presentation of 'The Business Year: Azerbaijan-2014' magazine.
Azerbaijan's First Lady, Member of Azerbaijani Parliament, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijani Culture Friends Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mehriban Aliyeva has been named 'First Lady of the Year' in the world for her active participation in the public, social and cultural life of Azerbaijan, for significant contribution to the dynamic development of society, inestimable merits in promoting Azerbaijani culture in the world, all-round support for the protection and preservation of the world's cultural heritage, and faithfulness to the principles of social justice and humanism.
The award was received by the representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Ilgar Mustafayev.
'The Business Year: Azerbaijan-2014' magazine also included an interview with Mehriban Aliyeva.
Ilgar Mustafayev conveyed Azerbaijani First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva's greetings to the event participants and thanked the 'The Business Year' magazine for the award.
He went on to say that May 10, 2014 marked the tenth anniversary of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and this activity was highly appreciated by the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Ilgar Mustafayev also said the Foundation's main goal is to study the legacy of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and to bring this legacy to the wide public's and the younger generation's attention.
"The Heydar Aliyev Foundation is realizing cultural, educational, social and healthcare projects in this direction, not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the entire world. A large project 'Azerbaijan - the Address of Tolerance' is being realized at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's President Mehriban Aliyeva," Ilgar Mustafayev stressed.
He also wished success to 'The Business Year' magazine in its future activities.
