Russian opera singer Ljubov Kazarnovskaya violated the law on "State border of Azerbaijan", spokesman for the Azerbaijani foreign ministry Hikmat Hajiyev told Trend July 6.
Hajiyev was commenting Kazarnovskaya's illegal visit to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
"Kazarnovskaya illegally paid a visit to the territory of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia," he said. "Her name will be included in a list of undesirable people of the Azerbaijani foreign ministry."
"Whereas the artists must serve to peace and reconciliation, Kazarnovskaya's statement in the occupied territories of the country encourage the aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, as well as ethnic cleansing committed against the Azerbaijani people in the occupied territories, as well as on the territory of Armenia," he said.
"While talking about the establishment of a music school in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, Kazarnovskaya must know that the material and cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people, including the Karabakh School of Music, which the great artists left, was destroyed as a result of Armenian occupation," he said.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the US are currently holding peace negotiations. Armenia has not yet implemented the UN Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
