Kristian Vigenin has been appointed new OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Special Representative for the South Caucasus, OSCE PA Secretary General Roberto Montella's letter says, the parliament told Trend Feb. 11.

The letter was addressed to the head of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to the assembly Bahar Muradova.

In his letter, Montella, who recently visited Baku, recalls the meetings during the visit with pleasure.

He stressed the importance of the discussed issues and appreciates the OSCE PA management's opportunity to restore the relations with Azerbaijan.

He said that the International Secretariat under the OSCE PA will work impartially for the benefit of all nations of the OSCE area.

According to the letter, OSCE PA chairman Ilkka Kanerva appointed Vigenin Special Representative for the South Caucasus. It is noted that the new special representative will make every effort to resolve issues having importance for the region.
