Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will participate in the European Union’s (EU) conference on Afghanistan that will be held Oct. 4-5 in Brussels, Belgium, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend.
Mammadyarov will address the conference and hold bilateral meetings.
Azerbaijan made and continues to make a major contribution to Afghanistan's reconstruction process.
The country supports Afghanistan in the field of defense and security, as well as in the restoration of infrastructure.
In the future, Afghanistan will be able to take advantage of the large-scale transportation and energy projects carried out in the region on the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan, said Mammadyarov previously during his meeting with the Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, US.
Rabbani praised Azerbaijan's support on a bilateral and multilateral basis to his country.
