The illegal economic activity of Armenia in the occupied Azerbaijani territories, its settlement policy and delivery of goods produced by draining local resources to foreign markets must be prevented, said Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov.
He made the remarks addressing the international conference, titled “Islamic solidarity – call of the time” in Baku Mar. 15.
Further talking, Khalafov noted that international organizations should take relevant steps on recognition of the Khojaly genocide.
“Azerbaijan demands the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within its territorial integrity, sovereignty and internationally-recognized borders,” said the deputy foreign minister. “Armenians conducted ethnic cleansing and committed the Khojaly genocide in the occupied Azerbaijani territories.”
Khalafov expressed gratitude to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for giving political and legal assessment in this issue.
“Azerbaijan calls on other member countries to demonstrate solidarity in this issue,” he added.
The deputy foreign minister added that the Azerbaijani state is taking important steps to strengthen the prestige of Islam in the international system.
