A large-scale pardoning is expected in Azerbaijan, said Azerbaijani Parliament’s Chairman Ogtay Asadov at a plenary session Feb. 23.
"Signing a pardon order is in the competence of the president of Azerbaijan," he said.
Asadov said the Pardon Issues Commission under the President of Azerbaijan continues its work.
About 400 pardon appeals have been considered so far at the meetings of the Commission since late January 2018.
The Commission has received a total of 1,000 appeals.
