BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. Protocol of Intentions was signed between the Azerbaijani State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons and the International Commission on Missing Persons on April 4, Trend reports.
Speaking at a press conference dedicated to signing the Protocol, Secretary of the State Commission Ismayil Akhundov noted that the document was concluded by Chief of the State Security Service Ali Naghiyev from the Azerbaijani side and Director-General of the International Commission on Missing Persons Kathryne Bomberger.
Akhundov noted that upon the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the State Commission was tasked with finding and exhuming the remains of persons missing during the first and second Karabakh wars.
According to him, practical work in accordance with the Protocol of Intent signed with the International Commission on Missing Persons will start in the near future.
