Estonia welcomes Azerbaijan's efforts to ensure security, cooperation in South Caucasus - FM

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Estonia - Jeyhun Bayramov and Eva-Maria Liimets exchanged letters dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Azerbaijani ministry told Trend.

According to Bayramov’s letter, over the past 30 years, relations between the two countries have been developing steadily.

High-level mutual visits, as well as an extensive legal and regulatory framework, play an important role in strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia in various fields, the letter said.

Bayramov, in his letter, called the Azerbaijani-Estonian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation an important platform for discussing the bilateral economic agenda.

He also expressed confidence that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia, based on a solid foundation and based on the principles of international law, will continue to develop.

Liimets' letter noted the development of cooperation between Estonia and Azerbaijan over the past 30 years, emphasizing the achievements resulting from cooperation in the field of higher education and information technology.

Azerbaijan's steps to strengthen security and broader regional cooperation in the South Caucasus have been highly appreciated by Estonia, the letter further said.

Liimets also stressed in the letter that Estonia has always supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Besides, she expressed confidence that cooperation on all major issues on the bilateral agenda will be successfully continued.

The foreign ministers also wished peace and prosperity to the friendly Azerbaijani and Estonian people.
