BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 28. The Embassy of Azerbaijan will be established in the city of Bratislava (Slovakia), Trend reports.
In this regard, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has approved the law "On the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Slovak Republic (in the city of Bratislava)".
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on November 23, 1993. The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Austria also operated in Slovakia until now.
In addition, there is an Azerbaijani Consulate in Slovakia.
Moreover, an intensive political dialogue has been established between Slovakia and Azerbaijan, and high-level contacts are maintained.
In general, efforts are currently aimed at creating a more stable foundation and building a more systematic approach to economic cooperation.
The Slovak Republic is open to cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of renewable energy sources (RES) and is ready to share its experience in this field, including in the implementation of the European policy in the renewable energy sector.
In addition, the Slovak transmission system operator, with the support of the government, is preparing a corridor project for the import of Azerbaijani gas to increase the reliability of supplies in the region of South-Eastern Europe.
