BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. Armenian separatist troops in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily stationed, have intensified the use of radio frequency interference to the GPS satellite navigation systems of passenger aircraft of local and foreign airlines flying through the airspace of Azerbaijan, Trend reports, referring to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

In order to pose a threat to the safety of flights passing through Azerbaijani airspace, illegal Armenian armed detachments went to another provocation.

According to the ministry, there were degradations in the operation of the GPS satellite navigation system of the ATR-45 passenger aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, which was flying on the Baku-Fuzuli route on August 21, from 10:15 (UTC +04:00) to 10:23 (UTC +04:00).

"Despite the fact that the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent was informed by the Azerbaijani side, no action has been taken until now. Radio interference that poses a threat to the safety of civil aviation is unacceptable and contradicts the rules set by the International Civil Aviation Organization," said the ministry.
