SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, June 15. The international prestige of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which has a common history, traditions, and values, is growing, and the significance of OTS in global issues and against geopolitical background is great, Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Chairman of the National Unity Party Unal Ustel said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at the panel session "Unity of common values and modernity: party diplomacy as a new dialogue platform" within the framework of the international conference "Organization of Turkic States: towards new strategic goals in the context of geopolitical realities and global cataclysms" held in Shusha on June 15.
"We are proud that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has been elected as an observer in the OTS," Unal Ustel emphasized, expressing his gratitude to all the brotherly countries that provided support.
Furthermore, speaking about the participation of Northern Cyprus in various tribunes, the path of development, and the history of the country, the guest mentioned that it had to undergo many deprivations and bans on the way to independence.
"We will struggle to the end for the rights of our people and for the realities of Northern Cyprus," the Prime Minister stated.
Talking about the ties between Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus, the guest noted that both countries are making important efforts in the direction of cooperation and that the ties are intensifying.
"I believe that very soon our relations will become deeper and stronger. As President Ilham Aliyev said, I am sure that one day the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will become a full member of the organization," Unal Ustel added, expressing gratitude to Türkiye and Azerbaijan for their support.
To note, the international conference "Organization of Turkic States: towards new strategic goals in the context of geopolitical realities and global cataclysms" is being held in Shusha under the organization of the New Azerbaijan Party. The conference is attended by up to 300 guests, including leaders of the ruling parties of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and observers.
Three plenary sessions will be organized within the framework of the international conference: "Organization of Turkic States: Regional contribution to global security," "Unity of modernity and common values: Party diplomacy as a new platform for dialogue," and "Turkic World 2040: a conceptual view of the future".
