BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 28. Frank Schwabe, a German Bundestag member and member of the German delegation to PACE, is prioritizing the interests of the Armenian lobby over Azerbaijan’s interests, Azer Garayev, an Azerbaijani political analyst, said in an interview with Trend.

The analyst claims that Schwabe’s actions over the years have been consistently aimed at undermining Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

Garayev accused Schwabe of making biased statements against Azerbaijan, particularly following the country’s victory in the 2020 Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. "Azerbaijan's liberation of its lands from occupation and restoration of sovereignty in Karabakh concerns individuals like Schwabe. These successes once again affirm Azerbaijan's strengthened position in the region and the world".

He noted that Schwabe has escalated his anti-Azerbaijan stance, organizing negative PR campaigns, and attempting to tarnish Azerbaijan’s image, notably ahead of the COP29 conference scheduled to be held in Baku. He pointed out that German politician is implicated in corruption scandals, suggesting that Schwabe is more concerned with the Armenian lobby’s interests than addressing issues within German politics.

Despite these allegations and campaigns, Garayev emphasized that Azerbaijan’s international reputation and successes are resilient and will continue to thrive under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership.
