BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30. The delegation led by the head of the observation mission, Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Maldives Ali Nashaath, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to observe the extraordinary parliamentary election scheduled for September 1, visited the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

Chairperson of Azerbaijan's CEC Mazahir Panahov informed the delegation in detail about preparations for the election process on September 1.

He noted that the preparation for the election is carried out following the requirements of the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan, and all necessary conditions have been created for comfortable voting of electors. The chairperson of the CEC informed the delegation about the number of candidates, voters, and polling stations. He mentioned that the citizens who will not be able to vote on election day will also be paid attention to, and appropriate work will be done to make it convenient for them to vote.

Underscoring that after many years residents of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur will vote in their motherland, Panahov also announced that over 42,000 voters are counted in these territories.

Ali Nashaath, the deputy chairperson of the Maldives Central Election Commission and head of the Maldives Observation Mission, expressed his delight to be in Azerbaijan. He noted that preparations for the extraordinary parliamentary election in the country were organized at a high level and the electoral legislation complied with international standards.
