As head of Azerenerji noted, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) receives electrical power from Iran and Turkey. In winter the power demands of NAR are 250 mwt. В"At present NAR receives power from Iran in the volume of 120 MWT. Earlier it was only 40-50 mwt, however at the result of talks with the Iranian side the power export volume increased”, Pirverdiyev said.
In 2006 Azerenerji supposes to transfer a number of power turbines in NAR from diesel fuel to gas. The relevant accord exists with Italian FIAT.
