CEYHAN PORT TO BECOME A SUPERMARKET OF ENERGY RESOURCES вЂ" TURKISH PM ASSURES

Rejep Tayyub Erdogan, the Turkish Prime Minister, stated in Italy on his country’s strategic plans in he sphere of energy resources, Turkish channel TRT reports. Erdogan said in Milan that the Turkish government is keen in changing Ceyhan to a center of sale of energy resources, which would enable to reduce risk of ecological catastrophe in Bosporus and Dardanelle straits.

В"Today tankers running via the strait excite direct ecological threats and push Turkey to search of alternative routes for the transportation of energy resources,В" Erdogan underlined, attributing the work done in this direction as strategic priority of Turkey.

According to Erdogan, along with the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Kerkuk-Yumurtalik oil pipelines it is also planned to construct the Samsun вЂ" Ceyhan route, which will finally changes the Ceyhan port to a super-market of energy resources and remove threats over the straits.
