First sitting of new parliament might consider formation of new composition of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE

The domestic political forces in Azerbaijan are more interested to see the mandate of the parliamentary delegation at PACE not to be recognized at the January session of the organization rather the European parliamentarians, Samed Seyidov, the head of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation at the PACE, told Trend.

“No idea or statement on possible cancellation of the mandate of the Azerbaijani delegation was sounded at any meeting of the PACE in Strasbourg, while it is frequently voiced by the inner political forces. Europe is interested in integration and progress of Azerbaijan,” he stressed.

According to Seyidov, the European parliamentarians indicate at shortcomings and necessity of holding some reforms and we try to accept the recommendations.

Seyidov announced that the CE Monitoring Committee will discuss in Paris on 15 December a final report by the PACE Monitoring mission in Azerbaijan, Leo Platvoed, as well as co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan, Andreas Gross and Andreas Herkel. “In the end of the session it is planned to design a document, which will be further considered at the January session of the PACE and we do not expect to face with any problem on this issue,” the head of the Azerbaijani delegation underlined.

Seyidov did not rule out that possibilities for consideration of the new composition of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation at PACE at the first sitting of the Milli Majlis of new convocation scheduled for Friday.
