Over 10,000 terrorists or suspected for terrorism are included into the database of Interpol, Jan-Michel Lubutan, the chief executive on police services of the Interpol General Secretariat, said to journalists in Baku on Wednesday, Trend reports.
In 2001 this figure was equal to 1,500. If till 2005 the number of the people arrested through Interpol was 1,200, only in 2005 the figure grew up to 4,000. The reason for annual growth is improvement of the mechanisms of Interpol, Lubutan said.
He also stressed that the organization was currently working on improvement and modernization of its appropriate bodies.
