Independent candidates of NAP must withdraw their candidatures in favor of single candidates, Ali Ahmadov

The members of New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), running for the by-elections indepently, must withdraw their candidatures in favor of the candidates, indicated in the single list, Trend reports quoting MP Ali Ahmadov, the deputy chairman of the party.

Ahmadov reported that the person, who was represented in any organization, was due to act in accordance with some principles, the rules and the policy of the organization. He stressed that other members of the party were due to support the candidates of NAP, balloting in the elections on single list. We will spoke to them and convinced of necessity of assistance in successful organization of the election campaign of the people, who will ballot in the by-elections on single list, he added.

The official representative of NAP also said that the leading party had determined its candidates on 5 constituencies to nominate their candidatures in the 13 May 2006 by-elections.

Elshad Abdullayev, the head of the Azerbaijan International University, balloted from Binagadi constituency 9, Ahmad Valiyev, the head of Odlar Yurdu University, - Surakhany 2nd constituency 31, Rizvan Vahadov, the head of the Oil Pipelines Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), - Zagatala 110, Bakhtiyar Sadikhov, the editor-in-chief of Azerbaijan daily, - Aghdam rural constituency 119, Majid Karimov - Sumgayit constituency 42.
