Meeting of CIS Council of FMs due in St-Petersburg

A meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will be held in St-Petersburg, Russia, on 21 April 2006, the CIS Executive Committee told Trend.

The foreign ministers will discuss a range of problems concerning the activities of the CIS and its bodies, further deepening of cooperation for integration, mull some personnel issues. The ministers will adopt an action plan in connection with the 15th jubilee of CIS. The Council will also approve drat Resolution of the Council of the Head of State on announcement of 2006 the Year of CIS, Trend reports.

The CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will discuss

draft Agreement on humanitarian cooperation of CIS member-states. After approval by the heads of state the document is intended to play a positive role in strengthening of historical relationships among CIS countries in the sphere of culture, education, science, information and mass communications, as well as sports, tourism and work with youth. A total of 15 issues will put for consideration of the CIS Council of Foreign ministers.
